Careful surface preparation is the key to a beautiful Klenk’s finish. Most Klenk’s Epoxies may be used on porcelain, ceramic, steel, wood, and some hard plastics, while Tub & Surround is specifically designed for fiberglass and plastics. The surface should be clean and completely dry. Glossy porcelain and ceramic surfaces must be etched with the included Klenk’s Porcelain Prep.

Klenk’s finishes can be tinted with universal colorants- up to 1/4 oz. of colorant per quart of finish. This will result in a pastel shade.

Klenk’s may be applied with a brush, high-density foam roller or sprayer. The temperature should be between 65 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and humidity below 80%. For more information, refer to the instruction sheet.

Allow the finish to dry for 1-3 hours between coats, depending on the type of epoxy. After applying Klenk’s, it will be approximately 3-7 days until you can use the tub or surface again. Although you can properly prepare and paint the surface in a day or two, the remaining time is necessary for the epoxy to cure completely. Please refer to specific product page or instructions for details on drying time.

Klenk’s Epoxies are non-toxic and lead-free when completely dry.
